La primera madre que se sienta a conversar...

María Lettini nos ha escrito este comentario que inaugura la parte de la voz de familias que deciden que sus hijos acudan a un centro español en Londres a seguir el sistema educativo español.

Estas familias son las que cada día construyen junto con los profesores un proyecto plurilingüe en el Instituto Español Cañada Blanch de Portobello Road.

Hi!

I am a mother of 2 children to go to the Colegio Español Cañada Blanch in London. I am American and my husband is Spanish. Having both lived in the US and Spain, we have always wanted to instill in our children the importance of both the Spanish and English cultures and languages. Our choice of Cañada Blanch as their school was specifically to reinforce that idea. We feel very fortunate that our children are able to attend a bilingual/bicultural school here in London. The quality of the teaching staff and the enthusiasm of the students only reinforces our choice.

In this day and age, the more exposure we all have to different cultures and languages can only encourage a more unified community. Our hope is that our children embrace London and its diversity of culture and learn to love languages.

I applaud the Ministerio de Educacion and the Colegio Espanol for its efforts.

La abuela paterna de estos alumnos, Marco y Nico,  es la biznieta de Pérez Galdós y la podéis ver compartiendo un día con los alumnos de Infantil y de 2º de primaria, hablando de su antepasado.


Y una madre llama a otra madre...Ahora es la familia Austin la que nos habla de Hayley y Troy, nuestros alumnos. Sus padres no conocen el español.
There is a language that is often taken for granted and that is the one without words. For us the warmth and "cariñoso" that we felt joining at infantil was a language that would give our children the secure start that could only but help in their life. Thank you to their friends and teachers.
